Our Story
They say when you lose someone, one of the first things you forget is the sound of their voice.
After suddenly losing a close family member, we instantly missed hearing their famous stories. The one-liners, advice, laughs and family history. We wished we had captured it before it was too late.
It was from this place that Darling was born, with a purpose to help others preserve their loved ones’ life stories, through audio memoirs.
At Darling, we capture memories and meaningful reflections in a warm, conversational recording. It becomes a treasured keepsake that families can access easily on their devices—something that grows in value over time.
We are a husband and wife duo, combining a love for people, storytelling, and audio engineering to bring Darling to life—a business that treasures legacy and human connection.

John’s story is one of adventure and service
From growing up in Kerikeri, New Zealand, to joining the Navy and finding love, John has lived a life of adventure and service. He travelled the world before settling in Sri Lanka. Now, he looks back on a life well lived and shares reflections and wisdom for the next generation.
